The Town of Byron offers refuse disposal services exclusively for town residents (proof of residency may be required) to help keep our community clean and well-maintained. Proof of residency may be required. Our refuse collection site, the Byron Transfer Station, is conveniently located at the Byron Town Hall on Route 237 and is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Price: Free
Example: Hot water heater, furnace, metal shelving, bicycles, aluminum siding, lawn chairs, file cabinets, etc. (This is to be placed in a separate dumpster behind the salt barn.)
As of Jan. 5, 2008, all recyclables will need to be separated: glass, plastic and tin cans. Newspapers and cardboard (flattened) will remain the same. This process is now necessary due to the rising cost of the removal of recyclable materials. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. Wash and flatten all recyclables. You do not have to remove labels.
Up to 3″ in diameter can be brought in to be chipped.
Saturdays: 8 am – 2 pm
